Dr. Susmita Mitra is a senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Kolkata with over three decades of experience in women’s healthcare. She is associated with RSV Hospital, Manipal Hospitals, Salt Lake and Dhakuria as well as Woodlands Hospital, Kolkata.
She completed her MBBS from Calcutta University in 1993 and subsequently pursued advanced postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the United Kingdom. During her eight years in the UK, she worked in several hospitals across the country, including St. Mary’s Hospital, Manchester, a premier tertiary referral teaching hospital.
She obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), UK, in 2003, and was subsequently awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG), London, in 2017. She also holds the Fellowship of the Indian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FICOG) and Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS).
With extensive experience in both obstetrics and gynaecology, Dr. Mitra has a particular interest in high-risk pregnancy, subfertility, endometriosis, fibroids, heavy menstrual bleeding, adolescent gynaecological problems and minimally invasive gynaecological surgery.
